MBF LEGAL at the ITechLaw European Conference in Copenhagen

Mariana Bernardino Ferreira will attend the ITechLaw 2026 European Conference, taking place from 21 to 23 October at the Copenhagen Marriott Hotel in Copenhagen.

The conference brings together professionals from different jurisdictions to examine the legal, regulatory and contractual challenges arising from technological developments, combining specialist committee meetings, thematic panels and small-group discussions.

Artificial intelligence features prominently in the programme, with sessions addressing its use by legal departments and law firms, the ethical questions it raises for legal practice, and liability for transactions carried out by AI agents. The programme will also explore different regulatory approaches to high-risk AI systems and the implications of using AI in software development.

Other topics include technology contracting, covering outsourcing, cloud and SaaS services, the management of vendor dependency and contractual exit arrangements, and the interplay between the NIS2 Directive, the Cyber Resilience Act and DORA. The application of the Data Act, the challenges posed by quantum computing for intellectual property and cybersecurity, and technological sovereignty will also be discussed.

During the conference, Mariana Bernardino Ferreira will co-facilitate the roundtable “Building a Personal Brand in a Crowded Technology-Law Market”, with Katarzyna Szczudlik, a partner at Schoenherr in Warsaw. The session will provide an opportunity to share experiences and perspectives on developing a professional identity and reputation in technology law.

This participation continues Mariana Bernardino Ferreira’s involvement with ITechLaw, where she has contributed as a speaker and moderator at international conferences and initiatives. The exchange of knowledge and engagement with professionals from different markets support her work on cross-border matters in areas where technological developments require closer coordination between legal frameworks and business realities.
